Dad is Not a Babysitter, Suckas…

I’m so sick of hearing people jokingly say “Oh, you better pay your husband a babysitter fee…” when dads watch the kids while the mom goes out.

HE IS THE DAD. HE IS NOT A BABYSITTER. HE IS EQUALLY A PARENT AS THE MOM.

It’s BECAUSE so many make it a big deal, so many dads think they are doing the mom a huge favor watching the kids while she goes out and has some me time. This very thing is the cause of so much unnecessary drama of epic proportions.

It’s BECAUSE so many moms make it a big deal of leaving the kids with their fathers even for a few hours that they make it seem like men aren’t as capable as women to take good care of a child.

It’s because of all of the BS above, that we as a society still have these ridiculous stereotypes of what a man and woman are supposed to do and be. 

Sure, there are certain responsibilities each individual plays in a family to make it all work but being a mom and dad isn’t about just doing what you think you’re supposed to do…it’s about breaking out of the box and doing what needs to be DONE without chastising eachother or keeping score.

Lose the guilt.
Lose the mentality of “I’m doing you a favor.”
Lose the need and want to establish labels in permanent ink.
Trash the scoreboard.
Lose the mentality that dads aren’t as rad as moms.

They absolutely are.
