Complaining about Valentine’s Day has Begun…

I don’t understand people who complain about Valentine’s Day.

“Oh, it’s a commercial Holiday just to make money!”
“There shouldn’t be a day where you declare your love and be all lovey dovey with your girlfriend or husband…it should be everyday…What a stupid holiday for stupid people…”

To those people I say: Shut your pieholes.

No one is forcing you to celebrate it. No one is forcing you to buy anything.

For some people, it’s a day for grand gestures and enormous amount of feels…don’t put down those who want to make it a great fun day or weekend. Don’t spread your bitterness to other people…let them be.

And you’re absolutely right, people should show kindness and warmth towards their loved ones everyday and not only on Valentine’s Day but you know what? Sometimes, people need a little push and an opportunity to be reminded and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Sometimes, it’s the one day in the year where a busy couple can getaway for a little while to be reminded that before the kids came along, they existed and much needed bomchickabowow ensues.

And if you choose to celebrate Valentine’s Day, remember…it’s not a Woman’s holiday, it’s a couples holiday. Women shouldn’t expect to be pampered and not do anything nice in reture…it should go both ways.

And to those parents who are all “Oh, I don’t make little goody bags or cards for my kids school, it’s dumb, only those crazy pinterest moms do it.” That’s your own perogative. I don’t look down on you and you shouldn’t look down on those who enjoy being crafty and want to do all the cutesy stuff. Kid’s grow fast, so if some parents want to make little goody bags or cakepops for the kiddos, so be it. And if people give you a hard time either way? Just ignore them. Ain’t nobody got time for idiots or holier than thou moms.

I ran out of my supply of imaginary “You win!” mom trophies. I just either act like I don’t speak English or I just kick them to the curb.

Bottom line? Don’t be a poopoocacahead to those who do and don’t be a poopoocacahead to those who don’t.

Choice is rad. Respect it.

Life’s too short to complain about every little damn thing.

Like I said in a previous post, my new years resolution this year is to be less of a butthole and just be more open minded about things that are out of my control.

Let’s do it together, friends!

Relax. Breathe. Eat a donut. Have a beer.
